Secluded, beautifully furnished and located within the gates of
carefully manicured grounds, Il Melone is an outstanding choice for a
couple or family reunion. Eight spacious apartments have been restored
with extreme care. The spaces are large, well placed to insure privacy
and decorated with style and comfort. There is also a restaurant on the
premises, snack bar near the pool and outside cafe for casual dining.
Il Melone is located at the foot of Cortona, a town rediscovered by
modern travelers due to the widely read "Under the Tuscan Sun" and
"Bella Toscana" by Frances Mayes.
During June, July, August, and September all guests will be offered a
Welcome Dinner in the restaurant on the Saturday of arrival providing
they arrive prior to 7:30 p.m.
In the apartments, internet service is available via lan cable, common
areas (pool & reception) have wi-fi and there is also a
computer with internet access in the reception area.
The dining options for guests staying here include an upscale
restaurant and wine bar. Both offer the freshest ingredients however
the restaurant is more formal and more expensive. Both are closed on
Tuesday. The wine bar serves cocktails, wines, snacks and appetizers.
In addition to the 8 apartments, Il Melone has opened a 4 star hotel,
La Locanda, with 12 rooms for 2 people each. Included with the stay (at
the Locanda only) is a buffet breakfast, bottle of wine on departure,
orthopedic beds, satellite TV and wi-fi in each room, mini-bar and
independent air conditioning.
Do keep in mind, the Tuscan Sun Festival, which features international
cultural and music events, is held in Cortona. Check this years dates

Also, every Monday from June until September, Il Melone offers a
